Analysis of employer attractiveness and job advertisements

Challenge
The shortage of skilled workers in the healthcare industry is becoming an increasingly significant challenge, caused by demographic developments, the rise in multimorbidity, and growing demands on healthcare provision. In order to attract qualified personnel, inspire the new generation to pursue careers in nursing, and retain them in the organization in the long term, various topics and employer attractiveness must be discussed in detail. It is essential to clearly define the methodology and the stakeholders involved in the entire project in order to systematically address the challenges of attracting and retaining employees and trainees.
Methods used
Qualitative analysis through interviews identified specific employee needs and provided valuable approaches for improving job advertisements and specifically increasing employer attractiveness and the recruitment of skilled workers.
To this end, a total of 20 telephone interviews with employees and management were conducted at seven locations based on a questionnaire. The questions focused on potential improvements to the advertisements, taking into account the perspectives of employees, managers, and trainees. In addition, assessments of the career website and general employer attractiveness were collected. The results led to the development of a customized roadmap with concrete optimization measures.
